Few people like homework but is an essential part of our programme in order to achieve best progress because:
• It cements what you learned in the last lesson
• It maximises your value for money because you avoid repetition
At the end of our lesson you will always get a comprehensive estimation of your progress and specific advice on where to improve and how. In accordance with your level, you will be given additive texts, exercises and topics for essays to train your skills at home. This will require extra dedication and persistence from you. Ultimately the student needs to motivate themselves to do this extra work by reminding themselves of their objectives in learning the language. However, there is something else which can boost your motivation to go that extra mile when we are not having classes. When you are dealing with truly interesting topics and the topics reflect YOUR objectives, then writing an essay or reading an article for the next lesson’s discussion is something you will want to do. For example, if you want to go to Krasnoyarsk or any other deep Russian culture towns, you might find it interesting to learn about people’s lifestyles, customs, cuisine etc. to engage with the culture a bit more. Consequently, my objective is to give you your own specific goal-oriented tasks, so you constantly remain motivated to master your skills, even outside the classroom.
